yes, I see that. I only ran one of the detection programs, the .net version works, but the activeX version can not!

Thank you for your prompt reply. I had tried that before, but no luck. and then I installed the Windows fax service,  it just works fine. Any other advice?

We just found that the FAXMAN JR can't detect installed fax modems in windows small business server 2003, with the GATEWAY DATA FAX MODEM and the U.S. Robotics USB Fax Modem( both the "C:\Program Files\FaxManJr\Samples\VB.Net\bin\release\JrNetTest.exe" and "C:\Program Files\FaxManJr\Samples\VB6\VB6FaxJr.exe" has been ...

 I found the FaxMan Jr ActiveX control("C:\Program Files\FaxManJr\Samples\VB6\VB6FaxJr.exe") cann't detect the modem in my lenovo e23 laptop, but the .Net version works.  Any advice?
