    SOLUTION: Blank fax pages

    -------------------------------------------------------------

     PROBLEM:

    -------------------------------------------------------------

We just recently bought a Mainpine 1 port modem from you guys since we thought we can avoid receiving faxes that are blanks ( multi pages).  Before our client is using a USR serial modem and we thought that this was the culprit.  Now I just received a call from them indicating that they still receive blank faxes.  This range from an 8 pages faxes with header but nothing on it.  They are currently using Mainpine IQ Express 1 Port V.34 FAX.

Please advice what to do next since this is critical to the client.

     Thank you.

    SOLUTION

    -------------------------------------------------------------

    Hi,

    A couple of suggestions:

     1. Make sure they are using the IQ Express card in class 2.1 mode by setting Class1, Class2 and Class20 to 0 either thru the API or in the faxman4.ini file. That will leave only Class 2.1 enabled and after restarting the server it will use class 2.1 whcih includes faster faxing and error correcting mode.

    2. Some fax viewers arent very robust and may show an all white or all black fax when viewing files with line noise. Use the Faxman fax viewer and see if the file is still all white.

Also please start a new thread on the forums when posting a new issue so we can keep individual threads seperate to avoid confusion.

Item #1 is now being applied to the clients Faxman4.ini

Item #2 basically shows the content of the file using the Faxman viewer

For now the clients are happy to know that they are not loosing important faxes.

     Thank you.
