    No Response to Command

I have installed my fax application at a new client and I'm getting a LOT of No Response to Command errors. The computer is set up as a virtual machine and is using a Lava Link serial - Ethernet adaptor to connect a Multi-Tech modem. On a large number of faxes that the application tries to send it follows the normal sequence of events (Initialize modem, dial, waiting for connection, connected to remote fax machine, negotiating). But then instead of starting to send the fax, it immeidately closees the comm port and returns the error "no response to command".

I have tried a number of initialization strings, including:

    blank

    atm0

    AT&FE0V1&C1&D2S0=0

    AT&FE0V1&C1&D2&E4&E11S0=0

But none of these seem to have any effect. This is a critical issue, as most of my client's faxes are failing, and they're getting very frustrated.

    Re: No Response to Command

    Hi,

It would be helpful if youcould email us the fax trace/debg info from the FaxMan jr control for a failed attempt. You can email itto us at support@data-tech.com

We have not used the LavaLink hardware before so I suspect there is something up with the drivers or hardware setup. I would suggest trying the modem directly connected to the PC and seeing if it works OK. That would help to narrow down the cause of the issue.
