 I own a license of the ActivX Controls, and have experience in twain saving mainly TIF files.

In order to consider purchase of PDF Export, When using it with TWAIN... can I save directly PDF files without saving other type as tif?

thus: twan can save pdf files directly?

and the PDF saved files is a normal "text searchable" PDF file?
or the saved pdf is an "imaging only" pdf, as I can do now saving the twain to TIF and convertig TIF to PDF but without text capable pdf?

I'm refering to the possibility I've now (without DT Export PDF) to converting TIF or some print task to PDF using anyone of the pdf libraries existing.

Using the PDF Export Addon from the ActiveX control you can save an image only PDF directly from any in memory image from the control. We will be adding Searchable PDFs in the ImageMan.Net toolkit very shortly.

I've installed ActiveX version 8.40.

can I try the export pdf or maybe I need to download something?

Hi, V 8.60 which you can download at no cost contains a trial version of the PDF exporter (It adds a watermark to the saved PDF file).

 but can I install the download trial and this doesn't change my license?

 please where are samples for saving pdf?

doesn't understand where must I define these properties as keywords,software,description and the compress/encription and security options.

In a first test I've saved pdf OK, only one page at 16 colours takes 1.6 MB.

 oh! one problem is the chm shows this line

Set Attrs = New IMActX80Ctl.Attributes

but doesn't works, I've user  IMActX8Ctl.Attributes (without the zero).

but anyway, don't understand the compress, I've used 

    Set Attrs = New IMActX8Ctl.Attributes
    Attrs.Add "EXTENSION", "PDF", IMActX8Ctl.IMString
    Attrs.Add "COMPRESS", "True", IMActX8Ctl.IMString
    Attrs.Add "PDF_COMPRESS", "JPEG", IMActX8Ctl.IMString

used also FLATE, but size was 2,6 MB or 1.6 MB.

btw I've Scanned using 16 colours, one A4 page
