Faxman Active X or Faxman V4 Printer Control that is the question

OK so I have just upgraded from v1 Faxman Jr to v2 and now I am totally confused with the Printer Controls.

I am assuming that the V4 control replaces the old active X (Prtctl30) control and it has a lot of nice properties and methods but for the life on me I cannot see how you can name your fax document as it has no PrintStart event.  So if I want to decide on the name of my fax file (which I do) do I have to continue to use the older control or is there a way of using new one.

    Hi,

The V4 printer architecture has been changed. As you  have noticed there is no longer a PrintStart, if you wish to rename the fax file just do so in the PrintComplete event.

You could continue to use the earlier printer drivers but they don't have support for Terminal Services or the new installation support of the new controls.

The problem is that there may be more than one incidence of the fax printing program running at one time as it is called by other external programs.  So how does each incidence know its job has finished - I guess I could do it from the printjob documentname but it will only know this after the GetNextPrintJob.  Getting the next printjob will presumably remove it from the list of complete print jobs and if it is not the correct printjob for this incidence of the program then the entry will not be there for the correct incidence of the program.

    Hi,

Right, the Document name is the best way to determine which job has finished. It sounds like you may want to consider having multiple printer drivers, one for each application to help keep the print jobs straight.
